Friends of Baxter County Library Hosting Used Book Sale This WeekendOzark Radio News
MOUNTAIN HOUSE, AR– The state’s most-used book sale is back this weekend, and best of all, proceeds from book sales will benefit library programs and events.
This week, from Thursday, August 18 through Saturday, August 20, enjoy a great selection of books, including many hardcover books under $3 and paperbacks under $1. Please “round up” your purchase at checkout as a bonus for the library! Book sale hours: Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturday morning, items are 1/2 price. A sale of $2 per bag starts at noon.
The Friends help develop a public understanding of the Library and provide funds that would not otherwise be available through membership dues, notable contributions, annual auctions and used book sales. Proceeds benefit the library by helping to purchase books, furniture, equipment and materials. The friends also provide library staff with advanced training, education, and appreciation rewards for their efforts to keep the library state-of-the-art and a source of pride in Baxter County. Plus, friends donate their time and hard work to our various programs and services. Friends also encourage donations of books and materials to the library.
Since their founding in 1980, the Friends have donated over $600,000.00. If you would like to join Friends, become a Friend of the Library today! Membership fees are $5.00 per year. Ask for a membership form at the loan counter. Dues are due annually and membership lasts from January to December. Dues can be paid at any meeting or at the library’s circulation counter.
