Xavier University students develop database system for Jesuit mission schools
Computer science students at Xavier-Ateneo University in Cagayan developed automated systems for three Jesuit mission schools.
Students developed “unique and creative approaches” to manage the registration system, registrar’s database system, and library management system to improve consistency of query results, data collection and data management.
The systems will be used by the Pangantucan Community High School, Fr. Ãcole Leoni Memorial and Ãcole Sainte-Thérèse de Miarayon.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a change in the educational method of the university which includes the provision of service learning,” the university said.
The Flexible e-Service Learning approach was adopted to âensure the safety of students while fulfilling the academic and social training mission of the universityâ and to âuse their acquired knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the communitiesâ.
